From Fact to Fiction

As part of the process of generating ideas and ‘exploring the output in radio’, for next week please complete the following task.

Take a current story in the news and ‘fictionalise’ it.
•What genre will it be?
•How will you deal with the content / subject matter-how can you make it engaging for the listener?
•How will it be structured? (Start-middle-end)
•Which voice will you use?
You idea should be around 5 minutes long

AS Media: Framing and angle analysis

Look at the still from the film LEON:

1. What type of shot is it? (Think about both camera distance and angle.)

2. What parts of the image are emphasised by this framing?

3. The strongest shape in the image is that of the man's body. Does it follow a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line within the frame?

4. What effect does this have on the overall composition and balance?

5. Why do you think this image was framed in this particular way? What was the film-maker trying to do?
